Probate Court

The Probate Division administers decedents' cases and has general supervisory jurisdiction over the estates of minors and those adults whom the court finds to be disabled or incapacitated. If individuals cannot handle their own affairs either because they are underage or disabled, the Probate Division may step in upon proper application, hearing and determination to appoint a conservator. The probate division may appoint a guardian for the care and custody of minors or of incapacitated adults.
